It would be great if we could use the parkway to view the solar eclipse on April 8. Will it be open to traffic in time ?

I heard the town of Brockville is providing safe eyewear to view the eclipse. It would be great if the council purchased ISO approved eyewear for residents. We are located in one of the best areas to view the eclipse. Why not make it a safe community event for all ages.

    Lights in Bethune Park

Along the west side of the newly paved walking trail, it is quite dark. A light behind the church and one near the cross trail from Frost would make it safer for people walking at night

Water bottle filling station at Arnold Bethune Park

We are at the park regularly for kids sports, splash pad and playing on the play structure. It would be wonderful to be able to fill up water bottles.

By-Law enforcing bimonthly reading of utility meters

I have been in contact with numerous home owners and business owners in Long Sault who are frustrated by Enbridge Gas' failure to read gas meters on a regular basis. In many cases including for me personally, Enbridge failed to read gas meters for over a year, resulting in excessive charges for gas that was never actually used. Enbridge's gas estimation algorithm is notoriously unreliable and if not corrected by an actual read can result in hundreds of dollars of overcharges. Enbridge's own terms of service require gas meters to be read every other month at a minimum, but there is no enforcement mechanism so Enbridge is free to ignore this requirement. Even the Ontario Energy Board refuses to step in and force Enbridge to comply with their terms of service unless they receive a multitude of complaints from multiple jurisdictions within Ontario. Thus the only solution left is a municipal By-Law that uses fines or some other enforcement mechanism to require Enbridge Gas to comply with their own terms of service.

Provide a safe sidewalk or proper shoulder on the north side of Highway 2 west of Moulinette Rd roundabout

It is not possible to walk from west of MacEwan gas station along Hwy 2 without using oncoming traffic lane, especially in winter with snowbanks, or spring/fall with adjacent muddy grassy area. Contacted SDG Counties about this more than once - no response.
