The next Municipal and School Board Election is scheduled for October 24, 2022. This page will provide all the information you need to be able to vote in the upcoming election. You can find additional detailed information about the election at www.southstormont.ca/elections

This page will focus on the ins and outs of the election and is not meant for the public to submit questions for candidates or discuss candidate platforms or campaigns.

In South Stormont, the 2022 Municipal Elections will include races for the offices of Mayor, Deputy Mayor, 3 members of Council and English Public School Board Trustee. The election will be conducted for a term of office commencing November 15, 2022 and ending November 14, 2026.

Members of South Stormont Council are elected through an at-large election process, meaning each council member represents all tax payers and residents of South Stormont and not a specific ward or area within the Township.

Who is running in the 2022 Municipal Elections?

Nominations for the 2022 Municipal Elections closed on Friday, August 19, 2022. Visit our Who is Running? page for a certified list of candidates for positions on Council as well as school board trustees.

How to cast your vote online

In order to vote online, you will need the online voting web address, as well as your unique PIN number. Both of these are found in your Voter Letter, which should have been mailed to your home address.

If you did not receive your Voter Letter, please contact the Township Voter Information Help Centre at 613-534-8889 or by visiting our Online Voter Services page.

If you have received your Voter Letter, the video below will walk you through how to cast your vote online.

    Hi Merna,

    You can vote in-person at any of the polls. The voter letter will provide a recommended polling station based on your location, but you can choose to vote at any station you wish.

    The following are the polling locations for in-person voting:

    HI there, 

    If you are looking for information about how to vote online, I will explain the process below. If you are seeking other information, please feel free to reach out to vote@southstormont.ca 

    By now, you should have received a Voter Letter in the mail. This letter will include the web address for the online voting portal. Once you visit this website, you will be asked to type in your unique PIN number (also found on your Voter Letter) as well as your date of birth to confirm your identity. 

    Online voting can be done 24 hours a day beginning October 19th, and will close at 8:00pm on Monday, October 24th. 

    *If you have not received your Voter Letter, please contact the main office and staff can arrange to have a Voter Letter emailed to you so you can vote online.

    Hi Cliff,

    The South Stormont Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Meet the Candidates Evening on Thursday, October 6th at 7:00 p.m. at the South Stormont Community Hall (2 Mille Roches Road, Long Sault). 

    Voters are invited to submit questions to be read by the moderator during the question and answer period to southstormontchamber3@gmail.com by 4:00 p.m. on October 5th to be considered.
