Consultation has concluded for this project. 

The Asset Management Plan for Core Assets was approved and adopted by Council on Wednesday, June 22 at the Regular Council Meeting. We thank everyone for their commentary throughout the process.

Council and Staff are seeking input on the recently developed 2021 Asset Management Plan (AMP) of core assets. The AMP is designed to communicate the requirements for the sustainable delivery of services through the management of assets, compliance with regulatory requirements, and required funding to provide the appropriate levels of service over the planning period.

We encourage residents to review the DRAFT plan, which can be found to the right of this page under "Documents" and use the tools below to provide your thoughts, feedback, or ask questions.

Staff will collect commentary from Council and the public until Monday, June 20th. Feedback will be incorporated into a final version of the AMP and presented to Council on June 22 for adoption.

Asset Management Plan Background

In 2018, asset management regulation (O.Reg. 588/17) came into effect mandating all Ontario municipalities to develop their asset management practices through a phased approach. The upcoming milestone requires every municipality to prepare an asset management plan in respect to its core municipal infrastructure assets on or before July 1, 2022.

The infrastructure assets covered by this AMP include roads, structures (bridges and major culverts), stormwater, water (distribution and treatment), and wastewater (collection and treatment) assets. These assets are used to provide services relating to mobility and connectivity, storm drainage, safe and high-quality drinking water, and wastewater collection.

In this Core AMP, the following deliverables were achieved:

1. Current levels of service

2. Proposed levels of service

3. Population growth forecasts

4. Inventory analysis

5. Life cycle activities to sustain levels of service

6. Cost of life cycle activities

7. Risk assessment framework

8. Climate change consideration
