The Township of South Stormont is experiencing significant growth in the communities of Long Sault and Ingleside. The Township Official Plan allows for additional development within these areas that may exceed the capacity of the existing water, wastewater, stormwater and transportation infrastructure. Additionally, due to the unique history of the communities, the Township has initiated a Master Servicing Plan to evaluate and develop a coordinated and sustainable approach to providing municipal infrastructure for both existing and growth areas within the community. The plan will consider the need, capacity, location and configuration for transportation, water supply, wastewater collection and stormwater management within the study area.

The proposed solutions will be evaluated and prioritized considering natural, cultural, technical and economic environment, and the preferred solutions will be selected in consultation with regulatory agencies and the public. Input from the public, agencies and other stakeholders will be sought throughout the study to identify options to address the study findings and optimize the evaluation process. This study is being conducted in accordance with the requirements of Phases 1 and 2 of the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment which is an approved process under the Environmental Assessment Act.

On Tuesday, October 17th from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. a Preliminary Public Information Session will be hosted at South Stormont Council Chambers (2 Mille Roches Road, Long Sault). This session will share an overview of the Master Servicing Plan, provide information regarding the scope, identified needs, potential issues and bottlenecks.

A secondary Public Information Session will be held on Tuesday, November 7, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. to dive into the alternative analysis, preferred alternatives, associated costs and implementations plans for the project.

We encourage residents to review the information for the Master Servicing Plan, attend the meetings if they are able, and provide their feedback, make suggestions, or ask questions.
