Waste Reduction Week in Canada takes place between October 18th and 24th. This is a year-round program, focused on the principles of circular economy, resource efficiency, and waste reduction. The program’s primary purpose is to celebrate our environmental efforts and achievements while encouraging new innovative ideas and solutions. The celebratory nature of the campaign is what motivates learning and behaviour change. For more information on their initiative, please visit the Waste Reduction Week in Canada's website.

As such, please join the Township of South Stormont in doing our part at reducing waste sent to local landfills.

Submit a short description of what you do at home to reduce waste for your chance to win a recycling bin, composter bin and a $100.00 gift card to a South Stormont restaurant of your choosing! All submissions will be entered into a draw with the winner being drawn on Monday, October 25th, at 4:00 p.m.
