Conversations occur daily in a variety of ways - at the coffee shop, on social media, at a community event and at the dinner table. Speak Up South Stormont hosts opportunities for virtual information sharing and conversations about current and upcoming projects, initiatives and community stories.
Effective community engagement involves opportunities to hear, listen, share information, ideas and suggestions. Speak Up South Stormont offers people living in the Township the opportunity to exchange and share information, ideas and suggestions between residents, residents and the Township Council, residents and staff.
Help support community participation and improved decision making. Keep an eye on projects in your area, provide ideas or comments that could improve the project outcomes for everyone. Check in and see how things are progressing or what other residents are saying about your community.
How Do I Participate in the Conversations?
Registration is required, the process is simple, secure and private. Just follow the steps below to create your free account, and you may participate in any project you wish.
- Register for Speak Up South Stormont by clicking here, or on the "Sign In" or "Register" buttons at the top of any page.
- Choose a username and password
- Complete a few quick questions about yourself
- You will receive an email to validate your email address
- Sign in using your new credentials.
It's that easy! As a registered user, you can ensure your voice is heard on any project the Township is undertaking.
Why is Registration Necessary to Make a Comment/Participate?
While registration is not necessary to access information on Speak Up South Stormont, we ask you to register to participate in the more interactive engagement opportunities for a few reasons.
- It helps ensure that a broader set of perspectives have an opportunity to be represented by attributing feedback and frequency of feedback to individuals.
- It promotes accountability and encourages people to provide more thought

Depending on the nature of the project, the Township of South Stormont's community engagement includes various means of community involvement, ranging from simply distributing information, to leaving the decision in your hands!
